Directions

  1. Boil squash until tender.
  2. Mash squash with 4 tablespoons butter, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt and pepper; taste for seasoning.
  3. In another pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
  4. Add corn flakes, pecans, and remaining brown sugar; toss until coated.
  5. Grease a 2-quart casserole dish.
  6. Alternate layers of apples and squash, and top with corn flakes.
  7. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
