Directions
- Boil squash until tender.
- Mash squash with 4 tablespoons butter, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt and pepper; taste for seasoning.
- In another pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Add corn flakes, pecans, and remaining brown sugar; toss until coated.
- Grease a 2-quart casserole dish.
- Alternate layers of apples and squash, and top with corn flakes.
- Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
